I read it somewhere and pondered a lot. I wouldn't agree for the second part.
We did right thing for the people we thought that they deserved it or we did it to feel good.
Perception of good and bad changes with the time or happenings around us. if we would have known that we are doing for the 'wrong' people we might not have done it.
Many good deeds are done not because others are needy but we cannot live with ourselves without doing it.
